Stuart Cunningham - Creative Economy, Question 8:

How schools prepare students for the creative sector?

Duration: 0:52

I think that my point on this is about more arts in the curricula its about how we are training people for a creative economy in a broader sense.

So creative problem solving, inter disciplinary challenges, working effectively in teams so that the individual doesn’t have all the solutions. Its about how you are able to work with others, who have quite different competencies, quite different skills, how you can work effectively across those barriers.

So these are some of the generic challenges that curricula face. Whether they are arts curricula, maths curricula, science curricula, or sports curricula, and these…..because these are some of the realities of the modern world, particularly in the creative sector.
